She has traveled Europe with her family.

 

She has lived in Brazil, but never did Melena Warden think that she was going to set foot in the Middle East.

 

Since the increased reporting of Syria's Refugee Crisis, her curiosity has grown into an ongoing awareness.

 

Her compassion has fueled her goal.

Inspired by the grotesque news headlines of dying children in 2015, a number of volunteers have traveled to Europe on route to Greece or Turkey, the hot spots of refugee arrivals.

 

Many found organizations or operate on their own.

 

They often live and dine in the same environment as those they serve.
